The LORD will hear when I call upon Him.  Psalm 4:3

CONVERSATION WITH GOD

Good morning, God.  It’s me again.  How are You today?

That sunrise that awoke me. Such a beautiful sight that You sent my way.

My birds were chirping.  Reminding me they need my attention.

That is how all my mornings begin. No alarm clock, no intervention.

But the rest of my day will take more planning.

I like to plan ahead.  It’s a little more commanding.

The most important thing is to keep myself occupied,

Until that day that, once again, my husband will be by my side.

If I dwell on that time, my day will be dark and lonely.

I really am free to do as I choose.  I answer to myself only.

No strings on my time.  What would make the most of my day?

There must be something I can do to pass the time away.

I could wile away the day but that doesn’t sound very productive.

There is much to be done. My “to do” list might be instructive.

How do I make a day brighter when grief has filled my heart?

Feeling sorry for myself is a waste of time, and from it I must depart.

Filling these days until we are together again, is not such an easy task.

Others who have lost a loved one will tell you this if you ask.

I’m so tired of feeling sad, but I won’t let my husband go.

I know I am my own worst enemy, to punish myself so.

He loved the poem, “Miss Me a Little, Then Let Me Go”.

But I can’t seem to do this.  I still miss him so.

How do you replace something so valuable as love such as ours?

I’m not trying to replace it.  I’m just trying to pass the hours.

But there are so many ways to get my mind off me.

Go somewhere. Take a ride. Choose a new site to see.

I am so fortunate in so many ways because I know how my story will end.

If I can just weather this storm, look down the road, I’ll see us together again.

Thank you, God, for lending an ear!
