“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23 1:1
GOD’S TOOLBOX
In my heart there is a toolbox. It was a gift from God above.
He told me I would need it for His Service. He sent it with His Love.
He filled the box with every type of tool I would need. Every size and shape.
He knew that every job was different. The perfect tool I would have to take.
There are tools of knowledge, understanding, sympathy, friendship. Whatever fit.
A tool for every repair job that I would be called upon to knit.
He told me to keep them all handy for when I get that call.
I need to choose the right tool. It’s not a “one tool fits all”.
Someone received alarming health news, causing much fear.
This call required a tool of “someone who cares.” A listening ear.
Someone is all alone and feels abandoned. What is needed here?
The tool of friendship would bring this person cheer.
Someone just lost their job and hopelessness has set in.
The tool of encouragement would be a boost to get them started again.
Someone has had an argument and lost a dear friend.
The tool of understanding. My aid to help mend this friendship again.
Someone has had a bad time and their finances have been depleted.
A tool of generosity. A helping hand is what this person needed.
Someone needs some guidance. The wrong path looms near.
The tool of knowledge. Someone who has been there. That’s what is needed here.
Sometimes the need is too great. The Expert Repairman is needed here.
Grief for a deceased loved one is more than that soul can bear.
The Expert Repairman’s “Reference Guide” holds all the answers there.
There is nothing He cannot repair. You are safe in His care.
God is behind the scenes, making sure I use the right tools.
Helping His people is so important. I must stick to His rules.
I am a novice in His service. My training is not yet complete.
But in heaven it will be perfected when I sit at Jesus’ feet.
