FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE
…sometimes brief — and sometimes longer – but always an adventure!!
Some of the experiences will be described by us and others of our family and friends — as mysterious, miraculous or providential — but any of that which happens is not as momentous as is our response. Our response is what creates the “ripples” that, then, affect our lives and the lives of those around us. Consider ANY issue … that truth will stand!
AND, may well be more serious than we casually think. For, we are here face to face with an “eternal” choice which begins in childhood and never ends till our life on earth ends. The adventure is filled with seemingly unlimited choices, opportunities and challenges. Remember, it is our response that makes the difference!
So! Lots of questions come into “focus”. Questions like: Will you take the easy way which yields immediate pleasure and profit? or, Will you take the more difficult way which yields toil and sometimes difficulties?
Are you willing to look ahead and sacrifice for the greater good? Will you concentrate on the world’s rewards? or, Will you concentrate on Christ?
Jesus promised His disciples three things — that they would be completely fearless, absurdly happy and in constant trouble. But, it is His teaching that the joy of heaven will amply compensate for the trouble of earth.
The apostle Paul (who knew what trouble was) said : “This slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.” (11 Corinthians 4:17)
