HE LEAVES NO STONE UNTURNED
You’ve heard that old saying, “He left no stone unturned” … or you’ve heard it said, “He had every base covered.”
In either case, the meaning is clear … that, everything is said or done that needs to be. We need look no further.
Jesus’ teaching is like that about life … and especially with regard to prayer and our relationship to God.
In the “Lord’s Prayer”, He teaches us how and how not to pray. And it is clear! Read (several times) the 6th chapter of Matthew.
It becomes obvious that one of the important aspects of our relationship and conversation with God (and our fellowman) is “motive”! So, it becomes clear that the laying of the foundation upon which we build or develop anything is of great importance. It is so important that Jesus teaches us “how to pray” and “how not to pray”.
In that explanation, He leaves no stone unturned and is sure that every base is covered.
Isn’t it a good feeling to know that we can, therefore, completely lean on and trust His Word?! -LJS
