OUR PRAYER
Prayer is the most powerful tool that God has provided.
It’s our communication with God, and always two-sided.
Prayers do not change our God, prayers change us.
God is always the same, in this we have trust.
The Bible tells us that God sends “rain on the just and the unjust”.
There will be hard times and our prayers will reflect it thus.
During these difficult times, in our prayers they will fervently show.
He hears. He is there. Sometimes that is all we need to know.
There will be times when we find our prayer request is denied.
We want to think it was for our best good, and eventually we find
That God had the whole picture, and His decision was just.
We only had a “snapshot” and in His decision we should trust.
There will be times too sorrowful for us to handle on our own.
We turn to God for His intervention, but His answer is not our own.
He loves us and wants to help, but maybe there was no other way.
With loving strength, His arms wrap tightly around us, to help us through the day.
Conversation with God is prayer that is more natural, more flowing.
It is time spent with our Savior that is more precious, ever ongoing.
Although He already knows our story, He loves to hear it from our lips.
He listens to us with such intent, these words that just flow from our lips.
When sorrow is great, tears must flow.
But that is a good thing, for it is the tears that cleanse the soul.
God hasn’t performed the miracle for which our heart yearned.
But God’s Will we must accept. To trust in His infinite wisdom, we have learned.
Although we may be unhappy because of a sorrowful event,
Joy still fills our heart because we know that Jesus was sent
To heal our wounds and bring us comfort and to show the way.
He “has our back” and will be by our side, day by day, all the way.
